Khandan helps you create and manage family trees. This notice explains how information is used when you use the website.

Information you provide

We process your account email and authentication information, and the family details, relationships, notes, and media you choose to save. Only add information about other people that you are authorized to share.

Signing in with Google or Apple

If you choose Google or Apple sign-in, the provider shares an account identifier and the basic profile information it makes available, such as your email, name, or profile image. Khandan uses this information to create or sign you into your account. Google sign-in does not grant Khandan access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or contacts. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose to hide your email.

How information is used and shared

Information is used to authenticate your account, save and display family trees, support invitations and collaboration, and maintain the service. Family information is accessible according to the family membership and sharing permissions in the app. People you give access to may view or export information available to them.

Khandan uses Supabase for authentication, database storage, and uploaded media, and Vercel to host the website. These services process information to operate Khandan. Your chosen login provider processes authentication under its own privacy policy. Email providers process delivery information when the service sends authentication emails.

Browser storage and diagnostics

Khandan uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, preserve local drafts and preferences, and coordinate sign-in attempts. Local drafts can remain on your device after you sign out. The app and its hosting services may process technical logs and diagnostics to operate and troubleshoot the service.

Your choices and contact

You can edit or remove family information where your permissions allow. You can remove Khandan’s Google or Apple connection in that provider’s account settings; this does not itself delete information already stored in Khandan. To request account or stored-data deletion, or ask a privacy question, contact umihuss@gmail.com.

Clearing this website’s browser data removes local drafts, preferences, and sign-in data from that browser. It does not remove family information saved to your online account. Export any local work you want to keep first.
